(ABC 6 News) - Some pieces of history just landed in Rochester, and you could get the opportunity to live it first-hand.
Rochester International Airport is hosting the only flying B-24 bomber plane in the world.
The plane is called Diamond Lil and is just one of the many rare World War II planes on display there for the weekend. Historic planes big and small are sitting on the tarmac. Their pilots are teaching people about the war and the people who fought it.
One of those unlikely teachers is pilot Kathy Royer. She s not very big herself, but the story she tells is one of the biggest in history. Kathy pilots Fifi. A 76-year-old bomber. The type of plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Japan during the war.
