International flight from Canary Islands diverted to Cork after ‘highly intoxicated’ woman became abusive to cabin crew

AN INTERNATIONAL flight from the Canary Islands to Manchester was diverted to Cork Airport tonight because of an unruly passenger.
The Captain, who was in charge of the flight from Fueteventura, decided to land in Cork after the female passenger became abusive towards the cabin crew.

He deemed it necessary to do so for the safety of the crew and passengers.
The woman, who was in her early 30’s, was allegedly highly intoxicated.
Gardai boarded the plane and arrested her under Section 48 of the State Airports (Shannon Group) Act, 2014 for offences under section 2A of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1973.

A flight from the Canary Islands to Manchester was diverted to Cork Airport on Sunday night after a female passenger became abusive to the crew and her fellow passengers.
A decision was made to land the flight from Fuerteventura at Cork Airport after the Captain deemed that the behaviour of the passenger, who is aged in her 30s, was causing a beach of safety for the crew and other passengers.
A woman is due appear before Cork District Court today after a flight from Fuerteventura to Manchester was diverted to Cork Airport.
The captain in charge of the flight from the Canary Islands decided to land in Cork after an incident on board the aircraft.
Gardai boarded the plane and arrested her under Section 48 of the State Airports (Shannon Group) Act, 2014 for offences under section 2A of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1973.
She was taken to Togher Garda Station.
The woman was accompanied by a partner and children on board the plane and they continued on the journey to Manchester.
