Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the extended sections of the Purple Line of the Bengaluru metro between Kengeri-Challaghatta and KR Pura-Baiyappanahalli. The total operational length of the metro is now 74 km with 66 stations and a daily ridership of over 750,000. The chief minister announced that two more stretches of the metro line are in the final stages of completion and will be opened by 2024. The government has also sent a proposal for the third phase of the metro project, which will be built at an estimated cost of ₹15,611 crore. | Latest News India
