the tsa now reviewing the utah airport where it all took place. here s jim avila. reporter: in st. george, utah, a connection jet with the nose cone and left wing crushed in a desperate act by a desperate man, exposing a weak link in security. just before 1:00 in the morning, a licensed but suspended commercial pilot for skywest airlines, climbs over the airport fence, boards the unlocked jet, standards it up, and heads for the runway. but in his haste, clips the wing of another parked plane and ricochets off the taxiway. through a fence and into the parking lot, damaging the terminal itself. he is a current skywest pilot. he knows how to get into the plane and activate the systems and take that plane off. reporter: the pilot was on the run from colorado springs, 675 miles away.
