Shannon Airport’s bustling summer schedule for 2024 has officially launched, with the airport offering the dream gateway to sunshine breaks and city escapes across Europe, the UK and the USA.
Ireland West Airport has welcomed the announcement of funding of €1.8m for the airport under the Public Policy Remit Operational Expenditure Subvention (PPR-O ) Scheme.
Shannon Airport is gearing up for a busy Christmas with passenger numbers expected to soar over the festive season. Over 121,000 passengers are expected to be welcomed at the airport during the Christmas holiday period, an 18% surge when compared to the same period last year which saw 75,000 travelling through the airport.
In March 2023 Aer Lingus commenced a brand new daily service connecting the west coast of Ireland to London Heathrow, yet another milestone in the airport’s history, it being the first time the airport is connected to one of Europe’s major international airport hubs.
