for us. thank you zblmp. let s bring in our panel of experts. rene marsh, pamela brown. aviation analyst peter goelz. law enforcement analyst, tom fuentes. geoffrey thomas of airlinera airlineraitings with us from perth, australia. first of all, they apparently detected the cell phone was the co-pilot was on trying to get some sort of connection with a cell tower. what do you make of that? i think it s pretty important because it shows there was something going on in the cockpit some time after the plane made the turn. and that it was low enough for a cell tower to pick up. so i think it s pretty significant. and it s something they ve got to dig into and explain. does it give the investigators, thomas, specific clue, and i think peter makes a good point for a cell tower to pick it up in penang and malaysia, maybe it was flying at 4,000, 5,000 feet? because the plane s got to be relatively low in order to get that kind of signal out.
