CAMPAIGNERS who fought to save green belt in Aireborough are urging local people to take part in the final stage of the battle. Leeds City Council is running a public consultation on green belt in its Site Allocations Plan following the legal challenge by Aireborough Neighbourhood Development Forum. A High Court judge found that 37 sites should be temporarily removed from the SAP, pending further examination by the planning inspectors and the Secretary of State. Now the forum is stressing the importance of taking part in the consultation before the deadline of February 16. Jennifer Kirkby, the forum s chairperson and programme manager said: We are trying to get as many people to respond as possible, but they are not finding this easy, so we’ve done a Sustainability Analysis and suggested ways they might respond.
