Airbus SE (OTC: EADSY) (OTC: EADSF) said its unit Airbus Defence and Space has officially handed over the first C295 aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF) to replace its aging Avros-748 fleet.
With the development, the company tapped into a long-term journey with the Indian Air Force.
"It was only two years ago that we signed this contract with India, the largest order in the history of the C295,” said Jean-Brice Dumont, Airbus’ Head of Military Air Systems.
In total, Airbus will deliver 56 aircraft to the Indian Air Force.
