Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Wednesday announced the appointment of Brigadier General Kerry L. Muehlenbeck to Arizona’s Adjutant General and Director of the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs.
General Muehlenbeck succeeds Major General Michael T. McGuire, who announced his retirement on March 5, 2021. McGuire served as Director of the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs and Adjutant General since 2013, and will officially retire on April 10, 2021.

Nearly a year after the beginning of the deadly pandemic that has changed the face of life as we knew it, the state Legislature’s Special Oversight Committee has held six hearings since October to examine the outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home. The state-run, long-term care facility for veterans went from a sought after placement for end-of-life care to a touchstone of the horrors the virus can bring when unchecked.

HELENA - Governor-elect Greg Gianforte announced his appointment of Major General John âPeteâ Hronek to serve as Montanaâs Adjutant General and lead the Department of Military Affairs.
A release from Gianforte says General Hronek is a command pilot with over 4,100 hours in flight who serves as Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Air Education and Training Command, where he assists in formulating policies and programs that impact the nearly 110,000 members of the Air National Guard.
From 20015 to 2018, General Hronek served as the Chief of Staff for the Montana National Guard and from 2018 to 2019 he served as Assistant Adjutant General.
