Today we’re expecting all sorts of April 1st tomfoolery, but it turns out some people will try to carry the tradition all year round. At least that’s the sensation we’re given by this customized 1958 Chevrolet 3100 that hides its performance secrets behind a very outlandish coat of paint. 39 photos
We have seen all sorts of personalization jobs, and, in this world of social media craziness, we know some people will go to great lengths (sometimes, quite literally) to stand out in a crowd. Of course, treating your ride to aftermarket goodies is one of the best ways to showcase one’s personality from afar.
A lower altitude and bigger wheels change its character completely.
Production of the Lincoln Continental is coming to an end. The luxury limousine just couldn t make it in a world where Merc s S-Class exists, and Lincoln has chosen instead to focus on SUVs like its parent company, Ford. But perhaps we all judged it too harshly. Maybe, just maybe, it could have survived at least a little longer if it looked a little meaner. Abimelec Design had the idea of making the large sedan look a little different, and his previous designs have shown that even the unusual can look good, so for the Continental, he decided to slam it on the floor. Not everyone is a fan of stanced cars, but the overall look here is pretty clean.
One of my guilty indulgences while out on photoshoots happens to be gauging a car s desirability level by the amount of attention it s able to draw from passers-by. It s one thing for a car guy in the know to be able to appreciate the amount of work and effort that has been poured into a build. Still, it s an altogether different sense of satisfaction for the owner when ordinary, non-car folk literally stop dead in their tracks to take a closer look!
This is pretty much a regular occurrence for Brett van der Schyff, the proud owner of this beautifully-appointed and superbly finished fully-customized Audi S3, which he has affectionately named Sophie . It might only appear to be a suspiciously low, neat-looking Audi with a set of nice 18-inch BBS CH rims on to the untrained eye, but to cop a phrase, the devil is in the detail with this one.

Back in August, we got a preview of the latest Chevy Nova build to roll out of The Custom Shop in Flanagan, Illinois. Nicknamed “CaSSaNova,” the two-door was designed by The Custom Shop owner John Wargo for running in the annual Battle of the Builders competition at SEMA, and now, the “CaSSaNova” looks as though it’s ready for primetime.
As is tradition for a SEMA build, this custom Chevy Nova is dripping with unique touches and bespoke features. Let’s start under the hood, where the Nova now runs a Procharged LS2 V8 engine, which was fitted with Holley EFI, Hedman headers, and Quick Time Performance mufflers. The ‘eight connects to the rear wheels by way of a T56 manual transmission, feeding a Moser 12-bolt rear end.
