India’s largest conglomerate Tata Sons at present owns four airlines, Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express, along with a majority share in Vistara and AirAsia India.
In a new development, it is confirmed that Singapore Airlines will be a part of the Tata Group-owned merged entity after Vistara and Air India s merger.
SIA holds a 49 per cent stake in Vistara, while the rest 51 per cent is with Tata. Tata wholly owns Air India, which includes the low-cost carriers Air India Express and AirAsia India.
Tata Group is considering to consolidate 4 Indian airlines and is considering to SCRAP Vistara airline, which is a Tata-SIA (Singapore International Airlines) joint venture.
