This weekend marks the 2021 Defenders of Liberty Air and Space Show.  In February 1933, the citizens of Shreveport and Bossier City invited the aviators of the U.S. Army Air Service to Barksdale Air Force Base. Just shy of 90 years the Shreveport and Bossier City citizens have warmly welcomed the Striker Airmen and Guardians.  This year’s airshow theme is 100 Years on Target,  paying homage to the days when 2nd Bomb Wing was known as the 2nd Group (Bombardment) stationed at Kelly Field.  At this year’s event, the progression of how far they ve come in 100 years with the presentation of the most sophisticated aircraft the country has to offer will be presented to the public.
