Six rights organisations on Tuesday served a contempt of court notice on S Aalm Group’s authorities and Banshkhali police station’s officer-in-charge for filing a case under the Digital Security Act against a local engineer in violation of a High Court directive.
The organisations sent the notice to S Alam Group s managing director Mohammad Saiful Alam and police OC Shafiqul Kabir, requesting them to withdraw the case by June 3 which was filed against local engineer Shahnewaz Chowdhury.
The organisations said in the notice that a contempt of court petition would be moved in the High Court against the respondents if they did not withdraw the case against Shahnewaz.
