Campus Receives Nearly $3 8 Million in Grants, Contracts in Q3

Supported projects explore such topics as immigration status and crime, vaping among young adults in Orange County and cultivating diverse teacher leaders in California.  Stephanie Vaughn, professor emeritus of nursing and project director of EMBRACE: $494,061 from Health Resources and Services Administration for the “EMBRACE: Enrichment Markers of Better Relationships, Academics and Cultural Enhancement” project Lidia Nuño, assistant professor of criminal justice: $462,165 from the U.S. Department of Justice for the project titled “Assessing the Relationship Between Immigration Status, Crime, Gang Affiliation and Victimization”

The Federal Credit Union’s Gift Adds its Name to Center, Preserves Programs March 2, 2021 Share This: Current and future students pursuing teaching careers at Cal State Fullerton can find academic advisement, counseling, study resources and support services online and at the university’s Center for Careers in Teaching, now under a new name. The Center for Careers in Teaching in the College of Education has been named the SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Center for Careers in Teaching, thanks to an $800,000 gift from SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. The agreement, signed in October 2020, names the center in recognition of SchoolsFirst FCU’s gift of $500,000 to support the center’s operating and program-related expenses.
