Berlin police mourning loss of retired police K-9

BERLIN - A police K-9 who served the Berlin community for nearly a decade has died, police said this week.
The retired K-9, Titan, was a part of the Berlin Police Department from 2008 until 2017. In a post made on the police department’s Facebook page, police said he was “loving and dedicated” to his handler, Officer Aimee Krzykowski.
Titan also loved spending “time with all his family” at the police department, Berlin police wrote. He was 13 and a half years old and succumbed to cancer.
Titan and Krzykowski were former winners of the Connecticut Police K-9 Olympics - a day-long charity competition, hosted by UConn, between K-9 units from Connecticut State Police, municipal police departments and the state Department of Corrections.

I had the pleasure of meeting K9 Titan and Officer Aimee Krzykowski through the K9 Olympic s. I m so very sorry and sending lots of love.
From the K9 Olympics Page:
Connecticut lost another incredible K9. Retired K9 Officer Titan, at the age of 13.5, lost his battle with cancer. For nine amazing years, Titan was a force to be reckoned with as part of the Berlin Police Department. He was a patrol and narcotics K9 and was known for his incredible nose, and love for tiny humans. Titan was also a fierce competitor, and crowd favorite, at the Connecticut K9 Olympics for numerous years. Titan retired in 2017 and was living his best life chasing balls, riding in jeeps, getting lots of extra treats, and showing his K9 brother how police dogs are supposed to behave. Our deepest condolences to the Berlin PD, the Town of Berlin and Officer Aimee Krzykowski. Rest easy Titan, we will take it from here ..
