A futuristic climate change opera based on environmental themes is coming to the National Opera House on Friday, July 14. Music Generation Wexford, in partnership with Wexford Festival Opera, is presenting Seedlings, a production developed as part of a series of collaborative workshops with young people from across the county.

Young children in Wexford are being encouraged to explore their musical side and learn more about the sounds around them.
Music Generation Wexford are sending out Mini Maestro packs next week which includes a small drum, bells and maracas.
Musicians Aileen Donohoe and Peter McCamley have been showing young people the wonder of music in the county and are hoping the packs will help keep them in touch with the art world.

Even the celebrations were in perfect harmony on Monday morning as Wexford trio The Ivy Sisters were chosen as the official winners of this year s Aldi Christmas FM Song Contest 2020. Made up of Aileen Donohoe, Sharon Clancy and Jilly Cox, the group brought all of their glitz, glamour and dazzling pitch-perfect harmonies to their entry, Mele Kalikimaka , which is a Christmas tune with a Hawaiian twist, originally performed by Bing Crosby.
While the official launch of The Ivy Sisters has twice fallen victim to Covid-19 restrictions, the ladies are hopeful that seeing their Christmas song feature prominently on the Christmas FM play-list will be a nice platform for them to work from when things eventually do open up.
