Four arrested for blackmailing people July 14, 2021 LAHORE : Green Town police arrested four persons on charges of hacking mobile numbers and blackmailing citizens. The arrested accused have been identified as Shafiq, Hussain, Abu Bakar and Rashid. One of them, impersonating an officer of an intelligence agency, called a citizen, Muhammad Rafiq, and blackmailed him that his account was used by terrorists. The accused demanded Rs 5.5 million extortion money from. The accused had already received Rs 3 million from him. Police recovered Rs 2.5 million from the accused. The accused had been committing such a crime with different citizens for over a year. A case has been registered against them.
