Covid19: Jammu Lost 39, Kashmir 17 In Last 24 Hours

SRINAGAR: In the last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir reported 56 fresh deaths and detected 3614 new Covid19 infections. These include 1572 in Kashmir and 1210 in Jammu. The existing health infrastructure is under massive load. There were grim images of patients moving to the hospitals with their personal or borrowed Oxygen concentrators and cylinders in Kashmir as well as in Jammu. Not many beds are available right now. Massive crowds are reporting to the hospitals and testing centres for mandatory tests and re-tests and inadequate staff is adding to the crisis.

Lockdown in 11 districts of J&K from April 29 till May 3; UT records over 3,000 new cases

Image for representation (Picture Credits: PTI) The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday announced an 84-hour lockdown in 11 districts in a bid to tackle the surge in Covid-19 cases. The curfew will come into effect at 7 pm on April 29 and will remain in force till 7 am on May 3. Taking to Twitter, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad wrote,” There will be Complete Lockdown in Srinagar District from 7 pm on Thursday to Monday 7am.” There will be Complete Lockdown in Srinagar District from 7:00 pm Thursday (29/04/2021) to 7:00 am Monday (03/05/2021).
