Right now there say large area around the statue that is sectioned off and police are here now watching over this area. Look at video this is what it looked like earlier this morning after a man got out of the car and spray painted the words black power on the statue. They tell us there are many witnesses and they got a good description of the car and license plate and they expect to catch up with this person and file vandalism and criminal mischief charges today. He also painted another message on the ground. There is controversy of late over the statue and some acorps the former mayor rizzo of racism and some called for the statue to be taken down. Earlier in the week, eggs had been thrown at the statue and folks out here are questioning how this new vandalism could happen, considering there had been a Large Police Presence and barricades around the statue earlier in the day.
