Fintech start-up, GuardianCard, has brought in Smoking Gun to handle its PR and social media.
The Hull-based company allows elderly and vulnerable people to issue a card to a guardian or trusted family member so they can shop or pay bills on their behalf.
The app s technology can then provide real-time transaction reports to help spot any suspicious activity.
“We’ve known of Smoking Gun for some time, and they came highly recommended to us. Their vast experience in the sector and enthusiasm for the brief meant they were the perfect choice,” explained Nick Thompson, co-founder of GuardianCard.

“Covid-19 has created a real problem in this industry, in that it has become even more difficult to keep older relatives safe and secure from dodgy scams and fraudulent activity.”
GuardianCard has the functionality of a debit card, but also allows the card holder to issue a virtual card to a relative or carer so they can shop or pay bills on their behalf,
