YOUNG people under the age of 30 may get vaccinated earlier in a bid to slow the spread of Covid-19, under new proposals being considered by the Department of Health.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has asked officials to consider amending the vaccine priority list so that younger people in the 18-30 cohort would get the jab sooner than those aged 30-50, once the over 60s are vaccinated.

The proposals are a response to the fear that cases will surge in young people once Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease, as this cohort is most likely to socialise in large numbers, according to The Irish Times.
