Hawaiʻi Island Goat Dairy Farm recently debuted its first ever limu kohu-fed and low-emissions goat cheese at the Merriman’s Restaurant in Waimea. HPR's Kuʻuwehi Hiraishi was on site to learn more about this process.
The 10-day event, from May 19-29, promises a roundup of events, food, entertainment and family fun, all in celebration of the Big Island community’s paniolo heritage and unique cultural blend.
The “We Grow Hawaii: A Youth Food Summit” was hosted by the Hawaii Youth Food Council, and many of the organizers are students themselves, eager to inspire their peers to become future food producers, policymakers and advocates for food system reform in Hawaii.
