Wellington City councillor Nicola Young has warned the capital’s arts sector that the council does “not have a magic wand” to fix all its funding problems, asking artists to be “realistic” in their feedback on what the council should do in “fiscally-straightened times”. Her remarks came as the council started consultation on its new Aho-Tini 2030 strategy, which outlines priorities for ensuring a sustainable future for the capital’s arts sector.
