AHMEDABAD: She owns Rs 15 lakh worth of gold, a flat in Naroda and drives a Rs 10 lakh SUV, but on Monday, the nomination of Krina Patel, the Congress candidate from the Singarva seat for the Ahmedabad district panchayat, was rejected as her house in Kanbha village does not have a toilet. During scrutiny of her form, her rivals in the BJP objected to the fact that she had “lied” in her affidavit that stated that she had a toilet at her home in Kanbha, from where she filed her nomination.
Krina, 47, had attached her voter ID card stating her address as 504, Patel Vas, Kanbha-II in Daskroi taluka. Komal Patel, the returning officer for Daskroi told TOI, “During scrutiny, a BJP member and their candidate objected saying Congress candidate Krina Patel did not have a toilet at her residence in Kambha.”

AHMEDABAD: A man from Ahmedabad city and a woman from Indonesia were booked by the city crime branch on Saturday in connection with a case of illegal stay in India for which they forged documents like election card and Aadhaar card.
The accused were identified as Tini Sandip Joshi, whose real name is Nilu Suhatini Ketwat Redia, 40, and her husband, Sandip Joshi, 53, who were staying in posh locality of Jaaspur in city.
Police said that Joshi had first met Redia during his business tour in Chennai in 2013 at a spa.
“When Joshi took her service in the spa, he fell in love with her but as she had come on a tourist visa, she had to leave Chennai in 15 days then,” said a cop.
