Ahmedabad reported five new Covid infections on Sunday and the active tally has now reached 49. Gujarat logged 12 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

PTI, Our aunt Narmadaben was admitted to the civil hospital some ten days ago after her condition deteriorated following coronavirus infection. She breathed her last at the hospital today, he said.
Her husband Jagjivandas, the brother of the PM s father Damodardas, had died many years ago, said Prahlad.

Ahmedabad reported 5,679 new cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 1,49,709.
Overall, the state has reported 14,340 new cases, the highest rise in a single day so far.
The state s tally climbed to 5,10,373, out of which, 1,21,461 cases are active infections.
With a record 158 fatalities in a day, the COVID-19 toll in Gujarat rose to 6,486.

Indrani Banerjee was a PhD in Physics and the dean of School of Nanosciences at Gujarat Central University.
The dean of School of Nanosciences at the Gujarat Central University, professor Indrani Banerjee, had been gasping for breath for over two days when her students and colleagues rushed her to a Covid hospital. She passed away after an Ahmedabad Covid hospital turned her away saying she was not brought in a designated ambulance.

As many as 480 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Gujarat, taking the tally to 2,71,725 on Thursday, while no new death related to the infection was reported, the health department said.
With the addition of 480 new cases, the state s COVID-19 tally rose to 2,71,725, while the death toll remained unchanged at 4,412 as no infected patient died during the last 24 hours, said a release by the health department.
With 369 more patients recovering during the day, the tally of discharged cases increased to 2,64,564, said the release.
