3 feared killed in clash between Customs officials and Youth in Ogun 1 min read Three persons were feared killed by stray bullets on Tuesday morning in the pandemonium that broke out following a clash between officials of the Nigerian Customs Service and Youth in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The incident which happened at the Kikelomo area in Ayetoro early morning on Tuesday was precipitatedby the attempt by officials of the Customs Service to stop smuggling activities centred in the area. The men of Nigeria Customs Service had reportedly stormed the area following a tip-off of from some members of the public.

The incident happened at the Kikelomo area in Ayetoro early morning on Tuesday following a clash between the customs and the youths in the area. The officers had reportedly stormed the area following a tip-off on smuggling activities. The stray bullets were allegedly fired by customs officers who stormed the area to evacuate the alleged smuggled bags of rice. According to an eyewitness, the fracas started when a young man, identified simply as Sola was allegedly hit by a stray bullet from one of the officers of the NCS.

Views: Visits 94 Following a clash between youths and officials of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) on Tuesday morning, three persons have been feared killed while five others have reportedly suffered injuries from stray bullets. It was gathered that the incident occurred around Kikelomo in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State after Custom officials stormed the community following a tip-off on smuggling activities. According to eyewitnesses, the stray bullets which killed the victims were allegedly fired by the customs officers while they were trying to evacuate bags of rice allegedly smuggled into the area. One of the victims simply identified as Sola was hit and killed by a stray bullet while driving his motorcycle around the Social Club area of Kikelomo.
