Unconditional love and uncompromised respect for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is the most defining element of the Muslim psyche. That sense of attachment and reverence is so deep and powerful that it emotionally defines the Muslim identity and provides the building blocks for Islamic ideology. It is this underpinning theory that makes Iqbal end his marvellous poem Jawab-e-Shikwah with this couplet where God tells the people that “Ki Muhammad Se Wafa Toone To Hum Tere Hain”. Roughly translating to: If you show faithfulness toward Muhammad, then We are yours.

SEC appoints observers to oversee election
The State Election Commission (SEC) has notified election of Mayors and Deputy Mayors of Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations and chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of Siddipet, Nakrekal, Kothur, Jadcherla and Atchampet municipalities on Friday.
The results of election to these urban local bodies that took place on April 30 were declared on May 3.
State Election Commissioner C. Parthasarathi held a meeting here on Wednesday on the arrangements to be made for the indirect election to the urban local bodies’ (ULB) functionaries.

Party set to win the Mayor elections
The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has registered a thumping victory in Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections, winning 43 of the total 60 wards.
The TRS repeated its feat of impressive victory in the maiden elections to the KMC held in March 2016 thereby retaining its hold over the urban local body (ULB) for the second term in a row.

Efforts to strengthen isolation wards, quarantine facilities in erstwhile Khammam district
The sudden spike in fresh cases of COVID-19 in Khammam district has prompted the district health authorities to upgrade the COVID-19 ward at the District Headquarters Hospital by adding 80 additional beds.
The isolation ward now has a total 320 beds, including 240 oxygen-supported beds.
