Govt working to strengthen local govt bodies: Tajul 534 DHAKA, Jan 31, 2021 (BSS) – LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam has said the incumbent government is working hard to strengthen the local government system by empowering all the institutions under the Local Government Department including union parishads, municipalities and upazila parishads. The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of ‘Union Parishad-UP Training Modules’ and the first e-learning course organized by the National Local Government Institute-(NILG) at a hotel in the capital on Saturday, said a press release here today. Referring NIGL as an important institution, the minister said that local representatives from all over the country received training from this institute.
