Deprived of govt schemes, private teachers under stress

Bhainsa: The COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected the education sector. Due to the closure of the educational institutions the financial situation of the private teachers gone from bad to worse.
To mitigate the teachers’ financial woes, the state government introduce a “Cash and Rice Scheme” whereby an amount of Rs.2,000 and 25 kgs rice shall be given to the teachers.
Around 2,06,345 applications were received throughout the state out of which 1,53,525 were techers and 52,820 were non teaching staff.
After various inquiries, the government declared 1,24,684 applicants eligible among them 1,12,048 teaching and 12,636 non-teaching staff.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz made it clear Wednesday that every political, democratic and legal tactic will be used for the win of incumbent Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.
In a tweet, the minister regretted that the opposition was harming democracy by using all illegal and immoral tactics, including buying and selling of votes. Sanjrani is the ruling PTI and its allied parties candidate, whereas Yusuf Raza Gilani has been named the candidate of the oppositionâs alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement.
âImran Khan has declared war on illegal and undemocratic tactics,â he emphasised. Earlier on Tuesday, Shibli Faraz said Yusuf Raza Gilani had not even shown an iota of repent over surfacing of news about his sonâs bid to purchase votes in the recently-held Senate elections. ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Shibli Faraz on Tuesday did not rule out the government’s offer of the Senate deputy chairman slot to the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) as the federal cabinet expressed its confidence of winning the upcoming elections for the two coveted offices of the upper house on March 12.
The opposition termed the offer an attempt to create cracks within the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
On Monday, a senior government representative had said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was not announcing its candidate for the office of deputy chairman and was keeping the slot open to place itself in a better bargaining position.
