Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi issued on Monday a decree naming Foreign Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak as the country’s new prime minister. Bin Mubarak will succeed Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik, who was appointed as an advisor to al-Alimi. In a statement posted on X, bin Mubarak said his appointment “comes at a historic moment” in Yemen’s history. He stressed that he will assume his duties with “determination and insistence on achieving tangible results in the lives of all Yemenis.”
