incident is to what happened to ahmed arbery. you re convinced this was racism. why? yes, sir. what other reason to be shooting at me at nighttime? no type of interaction. it was me at work. and i had full uniform. this is about being black in america, doing your job. yes, sir. you could have been another name like ahmed arbery. did you think about that? i did, that s why i speak for them as well as myself. gibson is also upset at the local police department who says was skeptical about his story. they went so far to play devil s advocate with him, asking him if he had done anything suspicious. brandon and gregory case have been charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to assault, but that s not enough for gibson and his attorneys. they believe hate crime charges should be levelled in this instance. the police chief here says the fbi visited him yesterday and he s handed over the case files.
part, to the ahmed arbery case, the big difference being that the alleged victim is alive to tell his story. from a legal perspective, do you see similarities here? i do. good morning to you. it s always problematic, obviously, when you have a father and son or anyone who is chasing after anyone shooting at them, right? and so that s number one. number two, you have to get to what specifically led to this, what was the intent, as we look at the father and son for shooting at the fedex driver in the first instance, and before that, why did they command that he stop as if they had the authority. generally speaking, you see something amiss in the neighborhood, you call the police. what was so immediate or imminent that they required, that is the father and son, to start shooting at a person who was in full uniform and apparently not in a fedex truck, but delivering packages. so it s troubling. i think it s important to note,
in the world. think about how many people are persecuted in different ways, whether by law enforcement enforcement or every day citizens and there s no evidence on video. there s no dash cams. there s no body cams. are those people less deserving of justice and accountability? absolutely not. in some cases without that video, nothing happens. think about what it took for ahmed arbery s mother to persevere and just get an arrest. you already identified that district attorney, that prosecutor is going to be on trial for her inaction in this case. were it not for her perseverance we would not be having this conversation about ahmaud arbery. it wasn t until that video
