Two okada riders crushed to death in Abeokuta - Daily Post Nigeria

Daily Post Nigeria Published Two motorcyclists, known as okada riders, were on Friday crushed to death in an accident in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. DAILY POST reports that the accident occurred around 8:25 pm at Kotopo, opposite Forte Oil filling station, Obantoko area of the Abeokuta-Ibadan highway. It was gathered that the accident involved two Bajaj bikes, one of which was registered as SGM 006 VG and a Leyland tipper truck marked AAB 969 XV. Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement corps said the two motorcyclists rammed into the truck due to their recklessness while on the road.

Drug Trafficker Excretes 97 Wraps Of Cocaine After Arrest At Lagos Airport

A 47-year-old drug trafficker, Chigbogu Ernest Obiora, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. The Spokesperson for the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, said on Friday that Obiora was subsequently put under observation during which he excreted 97 wraps of cocaine with a total weight of 1.55 kilogrammes with a street value of N360 million. “He was arrested about 1:16pm on Sunday, April 25, 2021, during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline. He had arrived Lagos onboard the airline from Entebbe, Uganda via Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia,” Babafemi said. The Commander of the NDLEA at the airport, Ahmadu Garba said, Obiora was intercepted in the E-arrival hall of the airport by the operatives of the agency on the suspicion that he ingested drug substance.

Spokesman of the agency, Femi Babafemi who said yesterday in Abuja that the suspect was arrested Sunday afternoon April 25 during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline, said that he had arrived Lagos on board the airline from Entebbe, Uganda via Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia. He also quoted the Commander, MMIA Command, of the agency, Ahmadu Garba, as saying that “Obiora was intercepted in the E-arrival hall of the airport by the operatives of NDLEA on the suspicion that he ingested drug substance. “The suspect was taken for body machine scan and the result was positive for ingestion of substance suspected to be illicit drug. The suspect was promptly moved to the NDLEA excretion/ observation facility.”
