According to the agency, the standard of care for large cattle is two acres per animal. The 33 cattle seized were all sharing just 11 acres total.
“The property was primarily dirt with little to no grass or vegetation,” the Sheriff s Office said in a statement.
The agency transported all the cattle to its Animal Services facility where they now have access to a large pasture, food, water and medication. The Agriculture Unit has been working with a local veterinarian to assess the lot.
Deputies are also working to obtain a verified petition, which will give the Sheriff s Office full custody of the animals.

The Agro Info Karavan initiative, which informs agricultural producers and seasonal workers about the new simplified procedures for engaging in seasonal work via websites and mobile applications, will visit 15 towns throughout Serbia, announced NALED.
From December 24 to January 15, the Agro Info Caravan will come to Zrenjanin, Nis, Cacak and Kraljevo, Subotica and Backa Topola, Indjija and Sremska Mitrovica, Grocka, Svilajnac and Jagodina, Zajecar and Negotin, Sombor and Vrbas; all will take place outdoors in compliance with the epidemiological measures.
After the reform that introduced electronic registration of seasonal workers, it is vital to promote this novelty in practice in order for seasonal workers and agricultural producers to understand the benefits of legal work.
