The minister came with the assurance while attending a function for
distributing financial incentives among the coronavirus affected fish and
livestock farmers at city’s Osmani memorial auditorium.
“All the necessary support will be given to the fisheries and livestock
sector as the sectors are playing pivotal role in poverty alleviation and
meeting nutritional demand of the people,” the minister said.

DHAKA, Jan 17, 2021 (BSS) – In an effort to offset higher food production cost, Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque today said the government is working to raise irrigation efficiency up to 50 percent by 2030 aiming to expand more cost-effective irrigation facilities for the farmers.
“The government is working to improve irrigation efficiency up to 50 percent within 2030 from its present capacity of 38 percent to expand irrigation facilities through more use of surface water,” he said as the chief guest at a seminar titled “ Ground water monitoring digitalization’ at Sech Bhaban at city’s Manik Mia Avenue.

DHAKA, Jan 3, 2021 (BSS) – Urging the concerned agriculture officials to work at the field level for raising food production, Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque today said there is no alternative to raising food production to face any possible food deficiency during the ongoing corona pandemic.
“We have to produce our own food …otherwise it would be difficult to manage food in case of any famine like situation emerged due to ongoing corona pandemic”, he said in a view exchange meeting with the ministry officials marking the English new year at the agriculture ministry here.
