For military construction and the department of Veterans Affairs. During the last congress 3 trillion was spent outside of the normal appropriations process. As spending soared, so did inflation. There was danger, damage done to the economy and the work of the Appropriations Committee changed significantly over those two years. Thats why islanderrier this year i asked subcommittee chairs to evaluate all of the funding in the pipeline. When the president s budget finally arrived, i directed them to review each Agency Budget line by line. I want to thank the subcommittee chairs for their work to identify ways to save hardearned tax dollars. These savings have allowed us to reduce overall spending without shortchanging, most Important National defense and Homeland Security and veterans. The bill before us demonstrates our commitment to reduce overall spending and still honor our commitment to our veterans. This bill makes good on that promise by fully funding Veterans Health care while en

House, there was a meeting of the rules committee that night, democrats were in charge, i presented myself to that meeting with 18 amendments to senate bill h. R. 3590. House bill 3590 that had been passed by the senate. Every one of those was summarily rejected. The problem the democrats had that day was should we change a single word in h. R. 3590 as passed by the senate that the bill would have to go back to the senate and concur with the house amendment to 3590 . The majority leader in the senate having lost his 60th vote in a special election in massachusetts that year, felt he could not pass anything. He could not achieve cloture with only 59 democrats to vote in favor of that motion for cloture. Thats the reason why not one word was changed between Christmas Eve 2009 and the time this bill was actually passed. But if h. R. 3590, after it came back from the senate, came to the rules committee, did it come to the house under an open rule . No, it did no. It was a closed rule. We w
That was the total cost of their care. Even if they were only two weeks pregnant. That was the cost they only have to pay. Then to the doctor up to six week old age of the child, that was only 500. These immigrants could have a child which it cost a person in the United States at that time without insurance far more. Host all that said, whats a solution in your view . Caller we need to keep legal immigration. We just need to until we get the revised version or whatever they want. We need to enforce it. Im sorry about these kids coming in. I really am. My heart went out to taking care of them. But also, we have to understand when we have a responsibility to ourselves. Host how big a political issue is this to you . Could your vote be swayed by this issue . Caller no. My vote wont be swayed. Because it has been used as a political issue. Host thank you maam. Dennis, minnesota, independent line. Dennis, your on the washington journal this morning. Caller good morning. I wish i would have
Devised a simple way to remove a president if you disagree with him. Its called an election. We have one coming up in less than a year. Lets let the people decide this next november and i yield back. Gentleman yields back. Gentleman from new york. Madam speaker, i yield ament to the gentle lady from michigan, mrs. Talib. Gentle lady is recognized for a minute. I rise in support of impeachment. I learn so much every day from my residents at home. Their common sense of what is right and wrong is centered why they oppose any person using the most powerful position in the world for personal gain. We honor our veterans in this chamber almost on a daily basis. But do we ever follow their lead . Where we serve the people of the United States and uphold the constitution not as republicans or democrats but as americans. We should learn from their sense of duty and responsibility to
country and democracy, not political party. Doing nothing here, madam speaker, is not an option. Looking away from
