Dundee analysis: Dee hearts aflutter but Dark Blues have earned their shot at a Premiership return © Shutterstock Feed Dundee’s first task is done – now they are just two games away from the Premiership. The Dark Blues couldn’t help putting their fans through the ringer, however, with an occasionally nervy semi-final second leg performance at Dens Park. After Lewis Vaughan turned and fired the opening goal in after 21 minutes, there will no doubt have been some Dee hearts aflutter watching on from home. Heading into the game with a 3-0 lead, few expected visitors Raith Rovers to have any chance of overhauling that deficit.

Dundee 2-1 Raith: Dark Blues keep second-place hopes alive as win secures play-off spot

Dundee 2-1 Raith: Dark Blues keep second-place hopes alive as win secures play-off spot Updated: April 24, 2021, 4:56 pm © SNS Group Dundee kept their hopes of pipping Raith Rovers to second place alive after seeing off John McGlynn’s side at Dens Park. First-half goals from Jason Cummings and Liam Fontaine were enough to set up a final day battle for the Championship’s runner-up spot. Raith would get a goal back with two minutes to go through Kyle Benedictus but it was too little, too late for the Kirkcaldy outfit. There would still be time for a late red card, however, as Dylan Tait’s late tackle capped a poor day for the visitors.
