Anyone will be able to get AstraZeneca jab at vaccination centers in seven cities this weekend 2021-04-15 LETA/TBT Staff
RIGA - This weekend, the AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid-19 will be made available to anyone who wants it at mass vaccination centers in Riga, Daugavpils, Liepaja, Rezekne, Jelgava, Jurmala and Cesis, Agnese Strazda, a spokeswoman for the Vaccination Bureau, told LETA.
People will be able to walk in the vaccination centers in said cities and receive the Covid-19 vaccine made by AstraZeneca.
People from priority groups will be diverted to a specially queue and they will not be required to present any additional documents except their IDs. The separate queue will allow them to get the jab ahead of those standing in the line for non-prioritized people.
Just over 2,800 people have been vaccinated on the first day of operation of mass vaccination centers, according to the data of the National Health Service (NVD), the LETA newswire reported.
Due to the fact that data on vaccinated individuals are not entered immediately at vaccination sites, the number of vaccinated individuals may increase slightly. However, the figure is below some of the daily totals recorded before the opening of the mass vaccination centers. For example on March 31 around 5,000 vaccinations were carried out.
The first vaccine dose was received by 2,803 people on Saturday, but the second - by 63. Thus, a total of 2,866 people were vaccinated.
