ended well, charles? what happens? yeah, good thing for that eric. airport officials here in atlanta tell us fortunately all of the passengers on board that spirit airlines flight from tampa to atlanta are okay following a fire that broke out during the landing process this morning. eric, it was quite the sight to see. take a look at the video taken by a witness who was there as this all unfolded. you can see dark heavy smoke and bright orange flames shooting from the underbelly of spirit airlines flight 383, shortly after it landed at hartsfield-jackson atlanta international airport. according to spirit airlines, a brake got a little too hot as the flight from tampa to atlanta was landing around 9:30 this morning, and that s what s believed to have ignited the flames. as you can imagine, it was quite a scary situation for those folks on board, many of whom were confused and on edge as flight attendants tried to keep them calm. two americas. most of the people probably watch morning joe today could have fact-checked, just like elise was doing, in real time, some of the conspiracy theories they heard. those are things you were constantly seeing in the right-wing media ecosystem. these aren t fringe characters anymore. it is part of the mainstream of the republican party. and when you think about president biden s approval rating in georgia, in and around the country, he is underwater in a lot of places. but, you know, in these republican primaries, you re going to see that. he is going to be pissed off. what you re probably not going to see in the general election is democrats voting for republicans because they re upset with president biden, the fact that and, you know, senate democrats, joe manchin and kyrsten sinema, because the joe biden agenda hasn t really gone anywhere when it comes to the social safety net and those kinds of issues. but what they might do, and this is something this white house kno
activists were already at another nonviolent direct action outside the capitol which turned out to be a 24-hour vigil. for 24 hours, disability rights activists camped outside the capitol and talked about why so many lives depend on congress passing build back better, specifically the billions of dollars of support in that bill for home and community-based care for elderly and disabled people. so elderly and disabled people who need extra help don t have to be institutionalized if that s not otherwise in their interests, they can get help home. there s dollars for that in the build back better bill. that part of president biden s agenda hasn t gotten as much attention but it affects a huge number of americans. right now the number of elderly and disabled americans who are on the waiting list for that kind of care, for home-based care services, it s about 800,000 people on the wait list.
