Mrs. Ortom stated this yesterday when she led officials of the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, and stakeholders to distribute relief materials to over 24,000 of her kinsmen who were sacked from their homes by armed herders. The victims were displaced from seven Council Wards of Mbakpa and four Council Wards of Yaav District and are currently taking refuge at the Agagbe and Aondona Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state.

Punch Newspapers Sections JOHN CHARLES Two brothers in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State have reportedly killed each other after an argument over the ownership of farmland resulted in a fight. The siblings were identified as Iorhemba Adóón and Jima Adóón. Sunday PUNCH gathered that the duo had fought over the ownership of the farmland which belonged to their late father, exchanging blows in the process. They were said to have also hit each other with charms and died in a few minutes’ interval. A resident, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said, “Jima took a tractor to plough his rice farmland close to River Benue but his immediate elder brother, Iorhemba, got wind of it and went to the farm to meet his younger brother. He ordered the tractor driver to stop work.”

TODAY February 20, 2021 Two brothers have reportedly killed themselves during a heated argument over farmland at Tse Agbulu, Kunav Community, Sengenv council ward of Gwer West local government area of Benue State. The brothers, identified as Iorhemba Adóón and Jima Adóón, are said to have killed each other through charms. According to sources from the area, the strange incident happened about two weeks ago between the two brothers during a heated argument. Sources said that the two brothers were fighting over ownership of farmland belonging to their late father and did not exchange blow at each other but only used incantation which led to their death within few minutes interval.
