Tuesday night on KWAY Country the 2nd ranked Waverly-Shell Rock girls beat 14th ranked Western Dubuque 43-37 to advance to State for the 7th time in school history and the 6th time under Coach Greg Bodensteiner. The Go-Hawk have now won a school record 23 games and in the win Katelyn Eggena join .
Thursday night on Y99.3 the 2nd ranked Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball team beat 15th ranked Denver on the road 49-25 to go to 19-0 on the season. Go-Hawk star Katelyn Eggena led all scorers with 23 points and joined Abbie Draper and Aftin Phyfe as the 3rd member of the school’s 1,000 Point .

Listen Tuesday night to Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3. Tuesday evening the Go-Hawks host the New Hampton Chickasaws in Northeast Iowa Conference action. Tip-off scheduled for 7:30. At the same time the boys will play the Chickasaws in New Hampton’s middle school building.
Monday night on KWAY Country the Go-Hawk girls beat Benton Community 56-35. It was an historic night as Abbie Draper needed just six points to tie Aftin Phyfe’s school record for career points scored. Draper netted 22 points and now has 1,106 points and counting. She will be presented with Monday night’s game ball by Aftin Phyfe before Tuesday’s game in Waverly.

th ranked Go-Hawks host the Benton Bobcats. Go-Hawk senior Abbie Draper is 6 points away from tying the school’s career scoring record currently held by Aftin Phyfe. Phyfe scored 1,090 points as a Go-Hawk before going to swim at UNI.

Tuesday night on Y99.3 Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball beat Mason City 49-45. It was the first win for the Go-Hawks over Mason City in nine tries. The Go-Hawks are now 6-1 going into Christmas break.
During the first quarter senior Abbie Draper eclipsed the 1,000 career point milestone with a put back. Draper scored 23 Tuesday night and now has 1,020 career points second only to Aftin Phyfe’s 1,090 point school record.
