CAPE TOWN - Another police brutality case has been in court.
The magisterial inquest into the death of Solomon Nengwane while in custody in the North West in 2006 was on Tuesday postponed to next month.
AfriForum s private prosecution unit was acting on behalf of his family against eight police officers who were holding the deceased in custody at the time of his death.

JOHANNESBURG - The head of AfriForum’s private prosecution unit, Gerrie Nel, has expressed his frustration that the alleged mastermind behind the killing of soccer star Senzo Meyiwa has not been arrested yet.
Nel is representing the former Bafana Bafana captain’s family.
There appears to be a conflict of opinion between Nel and the prosecution, who are now treating the incident as a robbery.

Residents and businesses in the Garden Route district have suffered another blow after a second court ruled against the reopening of beaches in the area.

The High Court in Pretoria on Wednesday dismissed an application by AfriForum and a small group of local businesses to declare the closure of beaches as unconstitutional.
President Cyril Ramaphosa s decision to close some beaches during the festive season to manage the potential outbreak of Covid-19 infections is among the more contentious regulations.
All Eastern Cape beaches and the Garden Route District beaches in the Western Cape will remain closed until early January.
