After almost three years of controversy and fraught debate, Manhattan Beach unveiled a new Bruce's Beach monument and sought to mark a chapter of healing.
Laguna Canyon Conservancy to Host Presentation on Randall Preserve, Formerly Banning RanchRecent media headlines announced the successful permanent preservation of 387 coastal Orange County acres previously known as Banning Ranch, now called the Randall Preserve. Well-deserved congratulations for this accomplishment are due to the Trust for Public Land, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority and especially to the Banning Ranch Conservancy.
Surfing legend Dick Metz will present "Boyhood Adventures in Laguna" on Feb. 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Susi Q Community Center, Great Room. The event is hosted by the Laguna Beach Historical Society.
On Saturday, Feb. 18 from 11 am to 2 pm Catmosphere Laguna cats and kittens will be up for adoption at the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, 20612 Laguna Canyon Road.
Messy Church to Host Love-Centered Activities and Stories this SundayFebruary brings the challenge to "love one another," both friend and foe. Activities and stories will revolve around the universal nature of love. People of all ages are welcome to explore these timeless lessons on Feb. 5, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Laguna Beach United Methodist Church, 21632 Wesley Drive. A meal is always served.
