Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Thursday said the state was prepared to have some students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State killed in an unsuccessful bombardment aimed at bandits.
Speaking in the wake of the students’ release, Mr El-Rufai said that before the bombardment could be done, the bandits hurriedly changed location which led to the students spending over a month in captivity.
“Two days after the abduction of the Afaka young people, I was assured by the air force and the army that they knew where the kidnappers were with the students and they had encircled (them),” he said during a webinar organised by the Africa Leadership Group.
Governors Samuel Ortom of Benue State and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has fingered his Kaduna state counterpart, Nasir el-Rufai as one of the real enemies of Nigeria and among the very few persons misleading President Muhammadu Buhari.
He maintained that the Kaduna state Governor is a sycophant, ethnic champion and religious bigot who hated anyone who did not share the same faith with him.
The Benue state Governor who in a statement weekend in Makurdi by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Terver Akase, was reacting to a statement credited to the Kaduna state Governor who alleged that Governor Ortom was attacking the federal government over insecurity in his state to cover his failures.

The disturbing security situation in the country appears to have turned two governors against each other as the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai and his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom have thrown caution to the wind, attacking each other over the security situation in the country.
Nasir el-Rufai fired the first salvo, ostensibly in support of President Muhammadu Buhari, when he claimed Governor Ortom only uses the insecurity in his state to attack the Buhari-led administration as a way to cover up for his own failure.

Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has said he does not take his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom, seriously because he enjoys attacking the Federal Government to cover his failures in his state.
The governor was responding to a webinar organised by the Africa Leadership Group showing a video where Ortom was addressing protesters after some killings in the state.
According to el-Rufai, “I did not hear what Governor Ortom said (in the video) but I know him and he is not somebody I take very seriously, frankly.”
He said Ortom was using the issue of insecurity in the country to attack the Federal Government and deflect from his failures.
