10 Black Fungus Cases Reported in Afghanistan The Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Wednesday said that the total number of black fungus cases in the country is now up to 10. The health ministry said that the new cases of black fungus were reported from at least 5 provinces and all involved patients with COVID-19. “Facemasks and oxygen provide a wet environment for black fungus, it is good if the masks are changed daily among the patients,” said health expert Hashmat Faizi. “It can be found in the soil . and in the air, those who work in the fields can be infected with this virus,” said Lais Mustafa, the head of the anti-COVID department at the Ministry of Public Health.

MoPH Reports 80 Deaths, 1531 New Cases of COVID-19 in Afghanistan 2021-06-27 MoPH Reports 80 Deaths, 1531 New Cases of COVID-19 in Afghanistan Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported 1,531  new positive cases of COVID-19 out 4,994 samples tested in the last 24 hours. According to BNA report, the ministry reported 80 deaths and 805 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period. The ministry says the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 115,615, the total number of reported deaths is 4,730 and the total number of recoveries is 68,288. According to Worldometers, so far 592,610 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 42,087 known active COVID-19 cases in the country.
