KARACHI: Lawmakers belonging to the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Monday hailed the Supreme Court’s verdict of holding upcoming Senate election through secret ballot, with both terming it as their triumph in the Sindh Assembly.
Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani also paid glowing tribute to the apex court saying, “We welcome the Supreme Court’s decision and [are] proud of our apex court”.
He said that the SC kept intact “Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s 1973 Constitution”.

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly again on Friday witnessed uproar and chaos when lawmakers belonging to the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf traded insults and hurled abuses on each other.
The situation took an ugly turn at the outset of the proceedings following the remarks of PTI’s Khurram Sher Zaman, who said “it seems that there is dogs’ rule in the province” while praying for dog-bite victims.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Information, Science and Technology Minister Taimur Talpur and other PPP lawmakers lost their cool and aggressively moved toward the PTI benches, shouting at MPA Sher Zaman and advising him to control his tongue and not to act like a “goon”.

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly session on Thursday was marred by uproar and chaos as members of both the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party and opposition Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf exchanged heated arguments and chanted slogans against each other during the maiden speech of interned Leader of Opposition Haleem Adil Sheikh who attended the sitting on production orders.
The house echoed with slogans ‘Go Niazi Go’ and ‘Go Murad Go’ by the treasury and opposition benches, respectively, soon after Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani gave the floor to the leader of opposition.
