Minister: Belarusian police prepared for any challenges, threats

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian police are ready to face any challenges and threats, Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov told journalists as he spoke about the police s preparedness for possible protests in the spring, BelTA has learned.
“The Belarusian police have already demonstrated their readiness for any challenges and threats,” Ivan Kubrakov said. “I would like to point out that most of the work of the police and internal affairs bodies is not evident. Crimes are not solved easily – this is the result of hard day-to-day work. We also use proactive policing practices to reduce crime,” he added.

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – The collegium of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs convened in Minsk on 29 January to take stock of the ministry s performance in 2020, BelTA learned from the Telegram channel of Olga Chemodanova, the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The meeting was attended by Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Rakhmanov, heads of law enforcement agencies and other government bodies.
In his opening speech, Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov noted that in 2020 the ministry worked to stabilize the social and political situation in the country. The post-election protests and open confrontation with law enforcement agencies were a kind of test for all law enforcement officers. “Having enforced law and order, we defended the country and preserved its sovereignty,” he stressed.
Belarus, Qatar keen to cooperate in law enforcement

MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Belarus Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov met with Charge d Affaires ad interim of the State of Qatar in Belarus Meshaal Al Attiyah on 20 January, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The parties discussed the most promising areas of Belarus-Qatar cooperation in law enforcement.
“The relations between Belarus and Qatar are characterized by mutual respect and trust. We understand each other well and there are no disagreements that could hinder the development of our relations,” Ivan Kubrakov stressed. He confirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to advance cooperation with Qatar in various fields.
