Village Congregational Church WHITINSVILLE - Music in many forms is a large part of the programs at the Village Congregational Church, UCC, in Whitinsville. Having one of the best and largest pipe organs and handbell sets in the area brings many to the VCC to listen, play and generally enjoy beautiful sacred musc During this past year both the church s Aeolian-Skinner organ, and the five octaves of Malmark handbells have been repaired and refurbished in order to maintain their consistent use and glorify their sound. The VCC has invested in both of these instruments to keep them up to performance standards. Both instruments require regular maintenance and periodic overall refurbishing as was just completed.

This article is a continuation of a series in the August 2015, June 2016, July 2017, February 2018, June 2018, and March 2021 issues of The Diapason . The information was delivered as a lecture for the Midwinter Pipe Organ Conclave on January 19, 2015, in La Grange, Illinois. The research for this project provides a history of a number of pipe organs in the village, but not all. For instance, organs in residences and theaters are not surveyed.
