Turkish exporters call for lifting of quotas on tomato sales to Russia
In a statement, the associations said it was “not possible” to understand the reason behind the quota on tomato imports from Turkey, as Moscow does not apply the ceiling to other countries.
The statement was made jointly by Turkey Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Associations Sector Board Chairperson Ali Kavak, Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association President Necdat Sin, Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association Chairperson Saffet Kalyoncu, Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association President Hayrettin Uçak, Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association Head Melisa Tokgöz Mutlu, Uludağ Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association President Cafer Aşkar and the Western Mediterranean Exporters Union.
