Yesterday the Petitioners asked the Court why only Muslim girl students were being targeted for not following the uniform prescribed by the State' colleges.
Senior Advocate Ravivarma Kumar, appearing for the petitioners challenging the ban on hijab, submitted before Karnataka High Court on Wednesday that discrimination against Muslim girls is purely based on religion.
Pointing out that there are hundreds of religious symbols in all sections of the society, Kumar asked: “Why are they picking only on the hijab? Is it being used for discrimination based on religion?”
