Hemkund Gases opens its first store in Northeast India

Our Correspondent Kohima, Sep. 10 (EMN): Nagaland became the first state in the Northeast to open Hemkund Gases store/office in Kohima, which launched on Saturday with M/S TZZ Gas Agency as the distributor. Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, inaugurated the store, after which the agency presented him with the first gas card, a stove, and a cylinder. Kire lauded the agency for venturing into the business, saying that young entrepreneurs should start ‘something new’ instead of doing things that everyone does. He advised them to be humble, respect one another and be kind to their customers. ‘Work with sincerity and devotion and let the business grow from scratch to the maximum,’ he said while advising them to put their trust in the ‘Lord’ for things to work out. The bank is located at Kire Building, Keziekie, North Block, below North Police Station, Kohima. Dr. Kire, in his address, exhorted the bank staff to live up to the expectations of the people. Our CorrespondentKohima, June 1 (EMN): Emerging from what it was earlier known for its notoriety and anti-social activities two decades ago, the Lower Agri ward in Kohima is now thriving and transformed as one of the peaceful colonies in Kohima. This was made known during the 25th anniversary celebration of Lower Agri Youth Organisation (LAYO) held at Penta Point on Wednesday. “Once upon a time, the colony was tagged as the “atrocious” and “worst” colony with youth involved in substance abuse and other anti-social elements. This had led to the formation of the colony youth body for peaceful co-existence,” stated LAYO president, Abel Assumi. With the consent from the ward chairman, the youth organisation was formed on June 1, 1997. Under the body, it brought all the youths together irrespective of caste, colour, and religion but unity.
